Term 2 Classroom Learning

Year R Term 2 Learning

Children in Year R have been planting Daffodil bulbs. They worked hard to use gardening trowels to dig a hole, make sure the bulb was the right way up and then cover it over with soil. We can't wait to see them grow!

Year 1 Term 2 Learning

Year 1 have really enjoyed making different types of moving mechanisms in DT. In History, they have learnt about Ancient Egyptian houses and had lots of fun making the houses out of clay!

Year 3 Term 2 Learning

In Year 3, pupils were introduced to their new text for the term in English - 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes. They completed some excellent character descriptions, exploring their use of adjectives and similes.

In Art, pupils completed their unit on Line, Symmetry and Form, creating their own portrait of a chosen friend, TV personality or celebrity. We were really impressed at their attention to detail, applying learnt skills and techniques.

Year 5 Term 2 Learning

This term Year 5 have been exploring how offspring inherit certain characteristics from their parents and the different ways living things have adapted over millions of years.

Year 6 Term 2 Learning

Year 6 have enjoyed learning about the Tudors during their History lessons and as a result decided to celebrate with a Tudor Day. As you can see, many pupils and staff embraced the theme with fancy dress, ranging from kings and queens to knights and lowly servants!

They have also enjoyed listening to Greensleeves then learning how to sing and play the song on the glockenspiel. The children also learned about the formation of the Tudor Rose symbol and its importance in promoting the power of the Tudor dynasty; we then created cupcake toppers of the Tudor Rose, emulating the Tudor love of pretty sweet dishes.

Also, last week Miss Rees class completed a mile run/walk every day!!
