Term 4 Celebrating Classroom & Home Learning

Term 4 Year R Learning

During February Half Term, Year R had lots of fun making, flipping and eating pancakes!

Term 4 Year 1 Learning

Year 1 have been very busy this term! They have enjoyed retelling model texts in English, especially adding in their own actions to help them remember the words. In Maths, the children have recently explored halving and are getting very good at sharing equally! The children have also been learning about sculptures in Art, and recently they explored different sculpting techniques and had a go at creating their own shapes.

Term 4 Year 2 Learning

Year 2 has been busy learning about poetry this week in English. We have read the book Giraffes Can't Dance and have created our own animal poems. In Maths, we have learnt all about multiplication and solved some very tricky problems. We absolutely loved creating fruit faces in Art and practicing our skills in PE. In History, we started learning all about Ancient Rome and in Geography started our new topic on the Globe. In Science we took part in an experiment to investigate how we could separate different materials. We have been focusing on looking after our wellbeing and really enjoyed the nicer weather!

Also this term, In Year 2 we have been working hard to complete our Big Writes and our End of term assessments in Maths and Reading.

We have had so much fun in Science planting fruit and watching the process of food waste biodegrading and learning all about Ancient Rome in History. Take a look at our Roman Tiles we made!

Year 2 have also really enjoyed our daily wellbeing sessions and learning about Resilience this term in assembly. The children have shown incredible resilience this term and they should all be so proud of themselves.

Term 4 Year 3 Learning

Year 3 pupils started the week with a fun, creative task in Design Technology. The children really enjoyed creating their own sock craft animals and we think they look great!

In English, the children wrote some excellent diary entries and created their own 'Missing' posters based on our video stimulus.

In History, the children had a great time acting out and writing playscripts to depict King Henry II's plea to make Thomas Becket Archbishop in order to abolish the church courts Britain.

To link in with World Book Day, the children have focussed on the life of author Roald Dahl in reading and loved celebrating in their costumes on Thursday - we think all the of children looked amazing!

Well done Year 3!

Term 4 Year 4 Learning

This week Year 4 pupils have enjoyed creating their own printing blocks in art and produced some excellent designs using paints. They have also considered where reading takes them, creating some lovely art work linked to their ideas.

Also this term, Year 4 pupils have enjoyed a range of practical experiences this week. In Art, they created fantastic silhouettes whilst exploring the use of light and dark techniques. In Geography, they loved created model volcanic eruptions using a mixture of bicarbonate of soda and vinegar. As part of Science learning, the children enjoyed investigating how light travels and even made some excellent periscopes.


Term 4 Year 5 Learning

Year 5 pupils have been working incredibly hard at home and in school over the last few weeks. During this time, they have enjoyed the snow, dressed up for World Book Day and transformed many potatoes into fantastic characters from their favourite stories.

Term 4 Year 6 Learning

This week Year 6 children learnt an entire modal text within one lesson with actions! They will be using this to help them write their own suspense narrative next week. Let’s hope they’re not too scary!!
